A West End Gem

A neighbourhood that is simultaneously historic and contemporary, subtle and eclectic, lively and peaceful, Roncesvalles’ unparalleled dynamism offers, in many ways, a perfect distillation of life in West Toronto. Initially a small village just beyond Toronto’s edge, the community as we know it today would begin formal development around the turn of the 20th century. Like many neighbourhoods in the city’s west end, Roncesvalles has retained much of its historic charm.

Today, Roncesvalles reigns as one of the most sought-after neighbourhoods in all of Toronto, with buyers and renters alike attracted to its standalone homes, local businesses, amenities, and proximity to the city centre. While homeowner demographics are diverse, many incoming buyers are young professionals, couples, and new families eager to lay down their roots.

Where is Roncesvalles in Toronto?

Despite Roncevalles’ elevated profile and connection to greater West Toronto, the neighbourhood’s exact location is often underconsidered – particularly by those who do not live there.

Placing Roncesvalles on the map, the community is officially bound by Queen Street West to the south, with the intersection of King and Queen streets marking the neighbourhood’s southwestern edge. Stretching north, neighbourhood boundaries reach as far as Bloor Street West, where Roncy’s east/west borders narrow closer, almost connecting. Roncesvalles’ eastern border is marked by the curving West Toronto Rail Path, which runs alongside the original CPR tracks. To the west, the community is bound by Roncesvalles Avenue, which briefly merges with Dundas Street West south of Bloor Street.
